Planned Maintenance

Please see below for current and upcoming scheduled maintenance which may impact users of BriCS services and facilities.

If you are concerned about the impact of upcoming maintenance, or encounter unexpected issues you suspect are related to a maintenance event, please get in touch with the BriCS team.

2025-12-17 @ 10:00 to 14:00 UTC	Image update to be applied to login and compute nodes	Isambard-AI Phase 2 Compute Service	System will be unavailable during the period. A reservation will be used to drain work prior to the image update. Connections to the login nodes will be severed at 10:00 and login node access will not be possible until the image update is complete.	Please ensure any work is saved and sessions disconnected before the planned start time.
2025-12-17 @ 20:00 to 20:05 UTC	Patching of SSH bastion service	Isambard 3, Isambard-AI Phase 1, Isambard-AI Phase 2	All open SSH connections will be disconnected. The service will be offline for approximately 5 minutes as it is rebooted.	Please save any open work and close your SSH connections before this time. Scheduled out of normal working hours to minimise disruption.
Mid-January 2026 (date TBD)	Changes to quotas on Lustre filesystems	Isambard 3, Isambard-AI Phase 1, Isambard-AI Phase 2	How quotas will be applied is changing. Some users will need to take action to prevent issues.	Further information and specific dates and timing will be added in due course.
