Met Office - Red Extreme Heat Warning

The Met Office has issued a Red Extreme Heat Warning covering our region, with temperatures forecast to reach at least 39°C on Wednesday 24 June 2026 and Thursday 25 June 2026, and very high overnight temperatures expected. These conditions place significant additional load on the cooling infrastructure that keeps our systems running safely.

To protect the systems and minimise the risk of unplanned outages, we will be actively managing the capacity of our services during this period. This is a precautionary measure: by proactively reducing load when necessary, we aim to keep services available and avoid a sudden, full loss of service caused by cooling or power constraints.

During the warning period, there may be periods of reduced capacity during which fewer resources are available than normal and jobs may queue for longer. We may need to pause, defer, or limit certain workloads at short notice. We will make as much capacity available as we safely can throughout the warning period.

These steps are being taken only because of the exceptional circumstances of this extreme heat event. We expect conditions — and normal service — to ease from Friday 26 June 2026 as temperatures fall, and we will return to full capacity as soon as it is safe to do so.

We appreciate your understanding and patience. Please check this page for updates.

Isambard-AI Phase 1: No Known Issues

There are no known issues that affect the normal running of Isambard-AI Phase 1. Please contact support if you encounter an issue.

Isambard-AI Phase 2: No Known Issues

There are no known issues that affect the normal running of Isambard-AI Phase 2. Please contact support if you encounter an issue.

To maintain system stability, we have temporarily imposed stricter limits on the number of jobs that can run per user. This allows us to monitor overall workload and ensure the service continues to operate reliably. These limits will be reviewed and adjusted as conditions allow.

If your jobs are queued due to these restrictions, the pending reason will appear as QOSMaxJobsPerUserLimit. Please note that submitting a support ticket for jobs held for this reason will not result in an increase to your limit at this time.

Isambard 3: No Known Issues

There are no known issues that affect the normal running of Isambard 3. Please contact support if you encounter an issue.
